Searching for a New Code of Conduct – mode de vie

31 05 2007

Life has changed.  That’s obvious.

The old benchmarks and standards we grew up with don’t often apply.

Technology (phones, email) have changed the way we interact.

Clothing and dress have become ultra-flexible (do what you want!)

A couple of Golden Rules still apply:

1) respect yourself – this thing called your body, your mind, even your spirit (if you acknowledge one) are yours, and yours alone.  If you don’t care for it, no-one else will.  Respect the integrity of your Self.

2) respect others – every being has a unique viewpoint.  Everyone has something to offer.  The world is a tangled web, and we are all part of it.

What standards do you apply?

If I am not for myself, who will be for me?

If I am only for myself, what am I?

If not me, who?

If not now, when?

Good post! It all begins with loving and respecting ourself, everything else comes from that.
Glad you are back!

Standards are so lax these days, it is quite sad. Yet there are still people who believe in upholding them and I salute them.
